A considered guide to candle care

Begin with the wick

Before every light, trim the wick to approximately a quarter of an inch and remove debris from the wax. A clean, properly trimmed wick helps support a more controlled flame. Always follow the instructions on the finished product label.

Stay present

Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, children, pets, books, and curtains. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Do not move a lit candle, and never use water to extinguish it.

Use a snuffer to extinguish the flame and let the candle cool completely before replacing its lid. Product-specific session limits and minimum remaining wax will be provided on The Library’s final label before launch.
